Sakku Group is a collection of five restaurant concepts – Estabulo, Sakkusamba, Fluer, Sakku and Casa Peri Peri – spanning Brazilian steakhouses to Japanese-inspired all-you-can-eat dining. Each restaurant prides itself on offering a memorable experience from a food and aesthetic standpoint, be it the foliage-adorned interiors of Sakkusamba to the dancing entertainment at Estabulo.

Smooth sailing with Payments

Sakku Group has five restaurant concepts across 16 locations in the north of England. With that many sites comes the need for a flexible ePOS and payments platform that works seamlessly across all locations. This is why Sakku Group chose Lightspeed.

“Sakkusamba is a 350-seat restaurant where we serve on average 600 people. Lightspeed Payments improves the operational efficiency because everything is done on a hand-held device, and this removes the need for serving staff to go back and forth.” said Joju Shibu, Purchasing Manager at Sakku Group.

As well as making life more efficient for staff, Payments helps management too.

“With Lightspeed Payments, I can easily go through the settlement reports to see the breakdowns for each individual location. This seamless interface is the best thing about Lightspeed.” Joju added.

Capital crucial to growth

Lightspeed Payments gives you access to Lightspeed Capital, the cash up-front funding that can be spent on what matters most to your business. Sakku Group uses Lightspeed Capital to fuel their growth by investing in modern hardware.

“When it comes to opening a restaurant, there are a lot of overhead costs and capital assets we need to inject into the new sites. So, when Lightspeed Capital came in, that helped us maintain the infrastructure and invest in new systems.” said Joju.

A customer-centric approach

Unlike traditional lenders, Lightspeed Capital is built with customers in mind.

“Lightspeed Capital is optimised for the needs of the customers. Lightspeed has a better awareness of the requirements of the hospitality industry compared to other lenders, and caters to our needs.” said Joju.

“The traditional way of capital does not fulfil the exact needs of Sakku Group. Lightspeed understands the requirements for hospitality businesses and the risk involved in the restaurant industry, especially when it comes to seasonal changes in sales.” Joju added.

Importance of inventory management

One of the challenges multi-location restaurants face is managing inventory. This is why the integration between Lightspeed and Nory is helping Sakku Group thrive.

“If a customer visits us, we know the exact portions of what has been served as it automatically comes out of the stock. This lets us manage wastage which is vital for big chains. Nory helps us track everything at a granular level, so if we’re running a special offer at a particular restaurant, we can see exactly how that’s performing.” said Joju.
